About Us
Supplements you can trust, from people who will tell you what you need
Protein Basket is a supplement store on Ring Road in Pratap Nagar, Nagpur, run by Ashish. We stock whey, isolates, creatine and other proteins from 13 brands — MuscleBlaze, Optimum Nutrition, GNC, MuscleTech, Isopure, Baxter Labz and more — so you can compare them on the shelf instead of guessing from a screen. Most people who walk in are not sure what they need, and that is fine. Tell us whether you are building muscle, cutting, just starting at the gym or trying to eat more protein as a vegetarian, and we will point you at what fits your goal and your budget — including telling you when you do not need a supplement at all.

Guides
Before you buy your next tub
Plain-English guides to the questions we are asked most at the counter.

Whey concentrate or whey isolate: which should you buy?
Both come from milk and both do the same basic job. The difference is how much the protein has been filtered — and what that means for your goal and your budget.

Creatine, explained: what it does, how to take it, and the myths
One of the most researched supplements in sport — and one of the most misunderstood at the gym. Monohydrate or HCL, loading or not, and what to ignore.

How to tell a genuine supplement from a fake
Fake and tampered supplements are a real problem, usually sold at a price that looks too good. Seven checks to make before you pay — most take seconds.

Protein for vegetarians: getting enough on an Indian diet
Plenty of vegetarian plates fall short on protein — not because the food is poor, but because meals are built around rice and roti. Food first, then where a scoop helps.

Mass gainer or whey protein? Choosing by your goal
They sit side by side and look alike, but they are built for different people. Buying a gainer when you do not need the calories is the most common mistake.

Questions
Before you buy
Are your products genuine?
Every tub we sell carries its manufacturer seal, batch number and printed MRP. You are welcome to check all of it at the counter before you pay, including any scratch code or QR code the brand provides for verifying authenticity. Our guide "How to tell a genuine supplement from a fake" explains what to look for.
Why is there no price on the website?
Supplement prices change with brand offers and pack sizes, so we would rather give you today's price than print one that is out of date. Message us on WhatsApp at 98238 78057 with the product, flavour and size, and we will reply with the price and whether it is in stock.
Can I order on WhatsApp?
Yes. Message us what you want and we will confirm the price, the stock and when it is ready for you. If you need it delivered, ask — we will tell you what is possible for your area.
What are your timings?
Monday to Saturday, 12 PM to 9 PM. We are closed on Sundays. You can message us on WhatsApp any time, and we reply during shop hours.
Where exactly is the store?
Shop No. 2, Chintamani Complex, Ring Road, near Manjiri Textile, Pratap Nagar, Nagpur 440022. Look for the Protein Basket signboard. Use the map on our Contact page for directions.
I have just started at the gym. What should I buy?
Most beginners need very little: a whey protein if you struggle to eat enough protein from food, and optionally a creatine monohydrate. Our beginner's guide explains why — or tell us your goal at the counter and we will keep it simple.
Is whey protein vegetarian?
Whey is made from milk, so it suits vegetarians who take dairy. It is not vegan. Egg-white (albumen) proteins are made from eggs, and some capsules contain gelatin — look for the green vegetarian dot on the pack, or ask us.
Should I buy whey or whey isolate?
An isolate is more filtered, so it is usually lower in carbohydrate, fat and lactose per scoop, and costs more. If you are cutting or dairy sits heavy, it can be worth it; otherwise a good whey concentrate does the job. See our guide on whey versus isolate.
Is creatine safe to take?
Creatine monohydrate is one of the most researched sports supplements. Follow the dose on the label. If you have a kidney condition or any other medical condition, take regular medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under 18, speak to a doctor first.
Can you help me choose between brands?
Yes — that is most of what we do. Tell Ashish and the team your goal, your budget and any flavour you like, and we will put the options side by side, including the cost per serving.
Not sure which one to buy?
Tell us your goal and budget on WhatsApp — we will suggest what fits and send today's price.
